Description
Department of Agriculture intends to award a contract on a sole source basis, in accordance with FAR Part 12, Commercial Items, utilizing simplified acquisition procedures to Go Albert Inc., 80 Maiden Lane, Suite 901, New York, NY 10038 to provide the AMI for Domino, search engine software to work with DA Staff Action application. The COTS search engine will integrate into or interface with a Lotus Domino application on an IBM x370 Windows Platform. The engine must have the capability to search meta data as well as full text documents stored in the Lotus Domino environment. The mandatory formats are tiff, pdf, word-processing or spreadsheet formats, however the desire would be to have the capability to search any database or file format. The current application provides a text version of tiff images through the use of an OCR engine. The search must accommodate Fuzzy Search Technology that will accommodate contaminated data. Contaminated data often results in "close to the same spelling" of words or characters strings. Each occurrence of a successful location within a document or groups of documents should be identified easily and contain a snippet of surrounding text with the provision for the user to step through the documents using a "next find" button. The engine should have the ability to rank the results of the search using criteria provided at time of search initiation to provide for most likely candidates being displayed first. A "sounds like" for text and "pattern recognition" for a graphics document are examples of desirable user specified criteria. Pattern matching technology is preferred as opposed to using wild card or exact string matching. The desire is to have the search engine use standard Boolean operators. Responses received within fifteen (15) days of this publication will be considered in determining whether or not to place this order on a sole source basis.
