- This public announcement is being issued as required by the Office of Management and Budget OMB) Circular A-76, dated May 29, 2003. The National Park Service announces the conversion of its A-76 cost comparison study for providing Sanitation Services at National Capital Parks-Central to an A-76 standard competition. The purpose of the competition is to determine whether Sanitation Services at the Park will be performed by the Federal Government or by a private source. The work is currently being performed by 37 full-time equivalent park staff positions. The major functional areas included in the work are custodial services, sanitation services, and Memorial maintenance services. The study may be expanded to include additional functions. The National Park Service expects to complete this competition by June 27, 2004. As required by the circular, the following additional information is provided: the agency is the Department of the Interior and the Competitive Sourcing Official for the Department is Ms. Lynn Scarlett; the Contracting Officer responsible for this acquisition is Mr. Gary Pieruccioni; and the Agency Tender Official is Mr. Arnold Goldstein.
