Description
The National Park Service is seeking qualified firms to furnish exhibit planning and design services for park units and support offices within the Pacific West Region (California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Hawaii, and trust territories of American Samoa, Guam and Saipan). Projects will be primarily focused on the development of conceptual and final interpretive exhibit designs in support of natural, historical and cultural resources of park units, varying in size and scope of work that may include: developing interpretive themes, reviewing artifact and graphic collections; preparing exhibit text; selecting and preparing list of graphics and artwork; developing condition and space assessments; developing lighting plans, graphic techniques and special effects; facilitating planning meetings; conducting value analysis workshops of alternative plans; preparing cost estimates and fabrication drawings; and performing misc pre and post fabrication support tasks or functions as needed. It is anticipated that 1-3 Indefinite Quantity type contracts will be awarded, each for one year with options to extend an additional four years. Individual projects will be initiated and funded through the issuance of task orders estimated between $1K-$150K each. The aggregate annual amount of all task orders is estimated at $300K per year (depending on the number of contracts awarded). Firm selection will be based on cost and factors other than cost such as professional qualifications, technical expertise, familiarity with and actual experience in planning and designing a wide range of innovative interpretive media, design application of 'green' practices and principles, sensitivity to natural and cultural resources, past performance with regard to quality, costs, schedules, ability to respond to a variety of tasks, and ability and experience of the firm to communicate, coordinate and facilitate work expeditiously and efficiently with large, multi-disciplinary planning teams. The Request for Proposal will be posted for electronic access on or about July 9, 2003 with proposals due 30 days after issuance. THIS ACQUISITION IS 100% SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. NAICS code 541430 applies, having a size standard of $6.0 Mil average annual receipts for an offeror's three preceding fiscal years.
