- NA The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center intends to award a single firm-fixed price purchase order to TA Instruments, New Castle, DE, to purchase One (1) Q100 DSC Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimeter with Mass Flow Control: A research grade M DSC with better than 0.2 microwatt sensitivity. Operating temperature range is cooling system dependent, with a maximum of 725 to minus 180 degrees C. Patent pending Tzero technology provides for enhanced resolution and baseline flatness. Unique DSC cel l design ensures improved cooling control and superior data precision. Provides patented temperature modulation capability with amplitude and period selections. Includes color touch screen display for convenient control and monitoring of instrument statu s and automated opening and closure of cell, plus software controlled dual mass flow control with automated gas switching. Field upgradeable to provide autosampler capability. Equipment is to replace the older model DSC units (DSC-910) and DSC-912), whic h are part of the TA Instruments system that is currently in use. TGA, TMA, DEA, and DMA units are also currently connected to this system. The Q100 DSC contains a new and unique sensor that permits detection and compensation.
