Description

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a requirement for a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity, type contract. The contract shall be for one base year plus four, one-year options. This contract shall be for the acquisition of .223 Remington caliber "service" and "training" ammunition used for field enforcement and training of Special Agents. The Request for Proposal (RFP) Number 0003472, will be issued in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Part 12-Commercial Items. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 421990, the Small Business size standard is 1,000 employees, and is being conducted as an unrestricted procurement. Required ammunition specifications shall include, but are not limited to the following: 1) Cartridges utilize a 50 - 80 grain bullet; 2) Clean burning and operate in FBI weapons; 3) Shoot accurately from FBI pistol barrels; 4) Be packaged in boxes of 20 to 50 rounds per carton and preferable case lots of 200 to 1,000 rounds; 5) Conform to the recommended dimensional and pressure standards of the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturer=s Institute and elsewhere as specified by the FBI; and, 6) Be warranted free of defects for a period of five years from date of purchase.
