Description
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), intends to negotiate solely with Applied Biosystems in Foster City, CA to furnish and deliver, F.O.B. Destination (within Consignee's Premises) an ABI Prism 7900HT Sequence Detection System and accessories to the USDA, ARS, NAA, J. M. Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University, 700 Washington Street, Boston, MA. This system will be used to detect and quantitate, through real-time PCR amplification, high through-put nucleic acid sequences for gene expression and allelic discrimination (single nucleotide polymorphisms: SNP genotyping). The ABI Prism 7900HT Sequence Detection System and components must be UL Approved and manufactured to ISO 9001 Standards. The system includes: 1) Peltier-based thermal cycling sequence detection system in 96-well format. The instrument has an argon ion laser excitation source (488 nm), and utilize a spectrograph and charge coupled device (CCD) camera to enable continuous wavelength detection from 500-660 nm; 2) Site preparation and safety guide SDS; 3) 96-well Thermal Cycling Block Module; 4) 96-well installation kit; 5) Packing Kit; 6) Interchangeable 384-well block upgrade; 7) Sequence Detection Software V2.1 Enterprise upgrade kit which is used for instrument control, data collection and analysis; 8) TF RQ Manager Software; 9) TF SNP Manager; 10) Computer: Dell (or equal) GX150 Mini-Tower 1.13 Ghz; Monitor, Dell (or equal) 17" Flat Panel LC, Windows NT 4.0 Operating System; 12) The system includes shipping, installation (completed within 14 calendar days after delivery), on-site training for two people (shall be completed within 21 calendar days after delivery); and one (1) set of the Operations and Maintenance manuals; 13) This equipment also includes a limited one-year warranty including parts, labor and service travel and an additional one-year Annual Bioassurance Agreement. The additional system components required are: 14) Primer Express Software for designing primers and probes; 15) Taqman Rnase P Instrument Verification Plate; 16) Hand-held bar code reader for sample tracking; 17) Consumables-384 well Clear Optical Reaction Plate with Bar Code; 18) an Optical Adhesive Cover Starter Kit. The system must be capable of expanding to include the following: 19) an Interchangeable 96-well block; 20) an Automation Accessory - to automatically load and unload reaction plates, providing unattended instrument operation. Companies with the demonstrated capability and financial capacity to provide and service such equipment must submit a written substantive statement outlining the Company's and systems' capabilities, available service agreements and consumables (including price lists) to the Contracting Officer within 5 days of publication of this notice. This is not a request for proposal. No solicitation is available.
