Description
The Air Combat Command (ACC) Contracting Squadron at Langley AFB, VA seeks to identify responsible potential sources in regards to radio test sets similar to the RCTS-003/A Radio Test System. The radio test sets are integrated, self contained, transportable, portable unit test system that will be used by US Armed Forces for operational verification testing and/or repairs of Life Support Radio System (LSRS). The test sets shall be capable to meet the following functional requirements: 1. General capabilities. They shall be capable of functioning as a spectrum analyzer, receiver, transmitter, oscilloscope, digital multi-meter, and signal generator to allow troubleshooting and operation verification of communications and electronic equipment. 2. Automation The functional testing of radios and beacon shall be automated to include full functional testing and user selectable single function tests for each radio or beacon to verify operation and performance within specified limits. 3. Internal cooling. The test set shall incorporate internal cooling as required to comply with the high temperature operation requirement within this specification. 4. Front panel display indicators. The test set shall be configured with a color display to provide information to the user when operating the test set. This includes all modes of operation; maintenance, calibration, self-test, debug, test limit and condition setting, etc. Minimum display dimensions are 6.8? diagonal, 4.4? high x 5.6? wide, with a resolution of 640 pixels x 350 lines or greater. The test set display shall be positioned to provide easy operator viewing of information during test set operation. 5. Digital interface. The test set shall have the capability for remote operation using external controllers and video monitors. The test set shall be configured with a 9-pin, subminiature D, male RS-232 connector to allow use of other serial devices. The test set shall be configured with a 9-pin, subminiature D, female Video Graphic Array (VGA) video connector to allow use of an external monitor. The Radio Packet Modem (RPM)-003 shall also be configured with an RS-232 port. 6. Electrical power sources and connections. The test set shall operate from nominal commercial, military, and shipboard power sources operating at AC voltages of 95 to 130 Volts Root Mean Square (VRMS) (50 to 400 Hertz) and 190 to 260 VRMS (50 to 400 Hertz). The test set shall also be capable of operating with an external Direct Current (DC) source of 22 to 30 Volts DC. 7. Interruption of power source. Voltage or frequency interruptions shall not cause damage to the test set. A power source interruption is when the voltage falls in the range of 0 to 70 percent of nominal or frequency falls in the range of 0 to 90 percent of nominal. Test set performance is not required during interruption of the power source. After power interruptions of any duration, the test set shall automatically resume operation at either the last operating condition before interruption, or a default power up condition. The following lists of test capabilities shall be included for the specified radio or beacon. Specific test conditions and interfaces required to perform these tests shall be identified and provided by the manufacturer. The test set shall provide the capability for loading and changing of upper and lower limit thresholds for each parameter without requiring software or hardware modifications. 1. AN/PRC-112, AN/PRC-112A, AN/PRC-112B AN/PRC-112B1, AN/PRC-112D radio test list. The following parameters shall be tested in the full functional test mode: DC measurement, transmitter (TX) Radio Frequency (RF) power, TX frequency error, TX modulation, TX Beacon (BCN) frequency, TX BCN modulation, receiver (RX) audio level, RX sensitivity, RX distortion, RX speaker output, distance measuring equipment (DME) light emitting diode (LED) check, DME level check, DME uplink code check, and DME phase shift keying (PSK) delay check. The AN/PRC-112B and AN/PRC-112B1 has added tests for GPS Keypad Test, Quickdraw interrogate and GPS RS-232 Banner. 2. AN/PRC-90-2, AN/PRC-90-2T, AN/PRC-90, AN/PRC-90T radio test list. The following parameters shall be tested in the full functional test mode: DC direct current measurement, TX RF power, TX frequency error, TX modulation, TX Beacon High Power (AN/PRC-90-2, and AN/PRC-90-2T), TX beacon frequency, TX beacon modulation, RX audio output, RX sensitivity, RX distortion, and RX speaker output. Tests added for the AN/PRC-90 and AN/PRC-90T include Transmitter MCW RF Power, and Transmitter MCW Frequency. 3. AN/URT-33C/M, AN/URT-33D beacon test lists. The following parameters shall be tested in the full functional test mode: DC direct current measurement, TX RF power, TX beacon frequency, and TX beacon modulation.
