Description

Notice of Intent to award a Sole Source Procurement. The Government intends to issue a sole source purchase order to purchase radio interoperability units. The equipment consists of 2 ACU-1000 chassis, 20 DSP-1 module, 4 PSTN-1 module, 10 interface cables, 2 STU-III Phone option, and 2 days of training for six students at Buckley AFB, CO. The award will go to JPS Communication Inc 5800 Departure Drive, Raleigh, NC 27616. The additional Radio equipment is required to match preexisting radio equipment already owned by the customer. Market research revealed JPS Communications (a subsidiary of Raytheon) is currently the only manufacturer and distributor of the requested communications equipment. The 460th Contracting Squadron intends to award a purchase order by other than full and open competition. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement was made based off the necessity to match and expand preexisting equipment. Questions should be directed to 2nd Lt. Michael J.
