Description
SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston is soliciting information from potential sources who are interested in manufacturing portable hand-held, battery operated instruments that simulate radiation detection of the AN/PDQ-1 Multifunction RADIAC (MFR) Set and associated probes. These instruments must be similar in appearance and function of those MFRs now in use. Simulation shall mimic detection and measurement capabilities for both beta & gamma radiation. In addition, the control unit shall operate as a stand-alone simulator for gamma radiation and possess the capability to interface with a variety of external simulator probes serving as a control unit readout device that measures gamma radiation and detects beta radiation. Interested vendors may receive a set of MFR drawings upon receipt of a signed nondisclosure agreement indicating that the potential manufacturer of MFR simulators will be for governmental use only. THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSUTRURED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PORPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFROAMTION IN RESPONSE TO NEITHER THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, NOR ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REQUESTS. RESPONDENTS WILL NOT BE NOTIFIED OF THE RESULTS OF THE EVALUATION. THE GOVERNMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CONSIDER A SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE OR 8(A) SET-ASIDE BASED ON RESPONSES HERETO. The applicable NAICS Code is 334519 and the size standard is 500 employees. Firms are invited to submit the appropriate documentation as described above in addition to any literature, brochures, and references necessary to support that they posses the required capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the capabilities for manufacturing of radiation detection simulators. Responses must include the following: (1) name and address of firm; (2) size of business, including: average annual revenue for past three years and number of employees; (3) ownership, indicating whether: Large, Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Women-Owned, HUBZone, and/or Veteran-Owned Business; (4) number of years in business; (5) two points of contact, including: name, title, phone, fax and e-mail address; (6) DUNS Number (if available); (7) affiliate information, including parent corporation, joint venture partners, potential teaming partners, prime contractor (if potential sub) or subcontractors (if potential prime and (8) a list of customers for relevant work performed during the past five years, including type of supplies/equipment, contract number, contract type, dollar value for each contract referenced, and a customer point of contact with phone number (this information is required to verify offeror?s performance; the government may contact any reference for further validation.)
