Description
The U.S. Coast Guard intends to award a follow on contract to Berger-ABAM Engineers Inc. for final architect design services for maintenance dredging and stone column design for Pier 36, Berth Alpha located at Integrated Support Command, Seattle, WA. The U.S. Coast Guard intends to include Construction Contract Support Services and Field Support Services for the maintenance dredging and stone column construction contract. The U.S. Coast Guard also intends to include Construction Contract Support Services and Field Support Services for the Pier 36 Berth Alpha construction contract. Berger-ABAM Engineers Inc. is the engineer firm of record for design of Pier 36 Berth Alpha. They have knowledge of Pier 36 conditions which would result in duplication of costs to the Government that would not be recovered through soliciting competitive proposals. The contract requires preparation of bid documents for maintenance dredging and stone column supports. It also requires responses from the designer of record regarding questions from the construction contractor regarding the specification and/or drawings during the construction of the new pier and during the maintenance dredging. On site services may also be required during construction. Estimated contract amount is not expected to exceed $450,000 for these services.
