Description
INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Supervisor of Shipbuilding Conversion & Repair, USN (SUPSHIP), has a requirement for Chromalox Instruments and Controls (hereinafter referred to as Chromalox) to provide replacement Chromalox Type 2PD Thermostatic Switches for the USS ABRAHAM LINCOL (CVN-72) which are old and reliable and beyond repair. This requirement is being issued by GovWorks under the franchise authority of the Department of the Interior (DOI) on behalf of SUPSHIP and in accordance with FAR 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. Model Series E2PD is required for improved shipboard reliability, operation, and safety of the ships heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems. Chromalox is the OEM and possesses proprietary drawings, technical data, and parts required for the direct one for one replacement of the electronic thermostatic switches. Chromalox Electronic Thermostatic Switches Model E2PD-11120 are required by NAVSEA approved SHIPALT No. 8164.D for all CVN Class U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers. Replacement switches must be Chromalox Electronic Thermostatic Switches Model E2PD-11120 in order to ensure proper operation of the ships heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems and standardization. Thermostatic switches are required for installation onboard the USS ABRAHAM LINCOL (CVN-72) during upcoming industrial repair availability at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA in order to meet deployment mission and operational readiness in support of the ongoing war time peace keeping effort for national and world security. The period of performance for this effort shall not exceed 5 months from the date of award. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Chromalox Instruments and Controls for the supplies and services in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities or submit proposals via email to both Mary.Coleman@mms.Gov and Terrie.Callahan@mms.gov. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within 5 working days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
