- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to furnish, deliver and tailgate spread road resurfacing material for two refuges located within the Central Mississippi National Wildlife Refuges (NWR) Complex. Clay gravel and 610 crushed limestone to Panther Swamp NWR located 4 miles east of Holly Bluff, MS and 4 miles southwest of Yazoo City, Mississippi, and clay gravel to Matthews Brake NWR located 10 miles south of Greenwood, Mississippi to the west of Highway 49E. The issue date of the RFQ will be on or about May 20, 2003 with a tentative closing date of May 31, 2003. A firm fixed price order will be issued with a performance period of on or about July 1 through August 1, 2003 for the clay gravel, and August 1 through September 1, 2003 for the 610 crushed limestone. However if the gravel cannot be delivered due to weather conditions, the contract may be modified to extend the period of performance through September 30, 2003. It is the government's intent to order all the clay gravel during July through August and Limestone during August through September if weather permits. Award date will be on or about June13, 2003 and offers on all or some of the materials will be accepted. The FWS is currently using Electronic Commerce to issue solicitations and the resulting award. Once you are registered you will be able to view posted solicitations, awards, and submit quotations on-line at either http://www.fedbizopps.gov or at http://ideasec.nbc.gov (the Department of Interior site). All prospective offerors with access to the internet and e-mail can receive electronic notification of awards. Telephone requests will not be accepted.
