- NA Countermine Technologies for Future Combat Systems Request For Information (RFI) I. Purpose. The Army DAS(R&T) has instituted a Task Force to support the acceleration of countermine technologies for Future Combat Systems. This Task Force is soliciting potential providers of countermine (prediction, detection or neutralization) techn ology and systems for information on relevant existing or potential concepts or products. The Task Force asks that this information be provided as white papers, not exceeding 3 pages, describing the basic technological approach, the current status of the concept or product, the key work that would need to be done to build a working prototype, and a brief description of company or organization capabilities. II. Instructions to Offerors: The Army encourages any and all potential Offerors to submit information in response to this RFI. Any organization may submit a white paper and more than one white paper may be submitted by a single organization. The Army m ay request that a subset of the white papers be briefed to an independent review team advising the Task Force. A list of providers will be maintained by the Task Force for notification of future Army solicitations in this area. A. Questions & Answer Period: Due to the short turnaround for soliciting industry comments, the Army is unable to entertain a Question & Answer period. B. Request for information due date: All responses to this RFI should be submitted by 5:00 p.m. EST on 11 July 2003. Responses received by 3 June 2003 will be considered for briefing to the independent review team supporting the Task Force. C. Format: Responses to the RFI shall be submitted as an attachment via email to Pat Davis (pat.davis@cacw.army.mil) and Jane Borden(jane.borden@cacw.army.mil). The response shall be submitted as a single document attachment in Microsoft Word 97 or 2000 format. The total submission shall not exceed a maximum of 3 pages (including embedded graphics, illustrations, tables and spreadsheets) when printed out as a har d copy. The document shall contain a single cover page (not included in page count), identifying the vendor and RFI number. All submissions shall be formatted as follows: The pages shall be 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches, including graphics, illustrations, schedules, and tables. The text shall be in Times New Roman and/or Arial font, 10-point or larger. Schedules, and tables may use any suitable format. All pages shall be sequentially numbered and shall include an identifier of the vendor and the RFI number. This information may be included in a header or footer area within the top or bottom margin area. Spreadsheets embedded within the word document shall include working formulas. D. Recoupment of Costs: The Government does not intend to pay for the information solicited and will not recognize any costs associated with submission of a response to this RFI. E. Restrictions: Responses should stand-alone. Responses should not specify implementers, integrators, or vendor products, or contain proprietary information of any kind. Responses should include clearly identified and specific recommendation stat ements with supporting justification statements. Responses to this RFI should be limited to a total of 3 pages, exclusive of the Cover Page. The release of this RFI is for market analysis purposes only and does not constitute a RFP and should not be cons idered a commitment of any kind by the Government to procure services.
