Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, Hollings Marine Laboratory, Charleston, SC intends to purchase a Gel Imaging Systems. Following are minimum specifications: 1) multi-imaging gel documentation system for fluorescent, chromogenic and chemiluminescent samples as well as pictures and negatives: designed for gels, blots or film, 2) cooled blue sensitive CCD camera: 1536 x 1024 pixels (9x9 micron pixels), 12 bit, Peltier cooled to - 25C, 3) true dynamic flat fielding using external reference plates with background CV< 5% over entire imaging area, for UV and white light, 4) F mount lenses, 28-80 mm zoom and 50 mm, fl.4 fixed, 5) 8 filter position wheel, with filters between camera lens and camera, resulting in no mis-registration between multi-channel images; also allows for custom filters, 6) modular design allows for camera upgrades, 7) image correction for dark current, dead pixels and hot pixels, 8) UV and white light trans-end epi-illumination, 9) UV bandwith 290-365 nm, 10) multi channel imaging, up to 3 channels, for multiple fluorophores in a sample, 11) imaging area 25 cm x 25 cm, 12) ethidium bromide sensitivity down to 25 pg, 13) imaging, quantitation and MW determination all part of one software package to be utilized by Mac and Windows 98, 2000 and NT v4 compatibles, 14) software is user friendly, very versatile in image analysis tools, graphic display, background substraction and algorithms for MW and quantity calculation and, allows comparison of multiple images simultaneously 15) on site service and training 16) sophisticated workstation with standard components.
