Description
NAICS Code: 541620 The U. S. EPA, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Part 6.302.-1 with Research Triangle Institute (RTI) to evaluate particle re-suspension due to human activity. This requirement for The Office of Research and Development (ORD), National Risk Management Research Laboratory (NRMRL) is to further support research performed by the National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL) Human Exposure and Atmospheric Sciences Division (HEASD) by providing input to the source module of ORD's multi-media/multi-pathway source-to-effects model for estimating aggregate and cumulative exposures. EPA source research indicated RTI is uniquely qualified to evaluate particulate re-suspension due to human activity. Researchers at RTI have already performed preliminary work in this area, and thus have the experience and knowledge critical to this project. This notice is not a request for quotations. However, any firm believing itself capable of meeting EPA requirements may submit technical documentation to establish the potential of completing this work. Such documentation must be submitted to the POC within 15 days of electronic posting of this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed on a sole source basis. This acquisition is being processed under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The anticipated award date is June 30, 2003. See numbered Notes 22 and 26.
