- Description
- The Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) proposed bundled strategy to issue a single solicitation for a DDG 51 Class Multi-Ship/Multi-Option (MSMO) for ships homeported in Norfolk, VA and Mayport, Fla. as necessary and justified. The proposed solicitation will include maintenance, modernization, and emergent work (dry-docking and non-dry-docking) on cost reimbursement type contract for FY 04-09. The cognizant SBA Representatives are Octavia Turner at 757-864-6859 (Norfolk, VA) and Mitch Morand at 404-331-7587 (Mayport, Fla.). The acquisition strategy will include a 40 percent (40%) small business subcontracting requirement in relation to the total contract dollar value to enhance small business subcontracting opportunities. A small business will not be exempt from the subcontracting requirement because of its status as a sma ll business. An Industry Day will be held prior to RFP release and will be announced via FEDBIZOPS.
