MODIFICATION 01 TO THIS SYNOPSIS CHANGES THE RESPONSE DATE TO JUNE 24, 2003 AT CLOSE OF BUSINESS (4:30 PM). Estimated date for the availability of the solicitation package is May 22, 2003. The non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting is changed to JUNE 3, 2003 at 10 am at the project site. ALL OTHER INFORMATION REMAINS THE SAME. ******************************************************************For technical questions regarding this solicitation, please contact Keith Bond, Contracting Officer?s Representative, at 530-544-8939 OR Bob King at 530-573-2619. The intent of this solicitation is the reconstruction of Eagle Falls Trailhead to allow safe vehicle turn around, restore stream environment zone, reduce soil compaction, install watershed best management practices, improve access for people with disabilities and improve built environment image. The site is one of the most heavily visited in the Sierras and very sensitive. Work consists of demolishing and reconstructing existing improvements including: paving the parking lot, building rock faced retaining and seat walls, constructing pedestrian boardwalk, relocating picnic facilities, constructing accessible restroom, constructing kiosk fee station, granular paving, fencing, trash enclosure, drinking fountain, installing storm drainage system, removing old asphalt, and landscaping. The government estimated price range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The site is located approximately 8 miles north of South Lake Tahoe, California via State Route (SR) 89 from the junction of SR 89 and US 50. The project start work date is approximately July 7,2003.
