Description
The U. S. Coast Guard (USCG) has a requirement to provide a Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) system for an automated Aids Control and Monitoring System (ACMS) of lighthouses and Short Range Aids to Navigation (SRAN) sites equipped with remote monitor and control systems that are monitored by USCG operations centers. The COTS system shall be capable of monitoring and controlling aids to navigation. A majority of the aids to navigation sites are lighthouses but also consist of buoys, foghorn sites, and range light sites located throughout the U.S. The ACMS shall monitor status and provide the watch stander with a visual status display and an audio alarm of the remote sites. The ACMS will be supportable for 10 years after initial purchase and carry a one year manufacturers warranty with options for an additional four year warranty. The ACMS shall meet specification requirements that will be included in the solicitation. The government anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed Price/Indefinite Delivery type contract with options. The NAICS code for this procurement is 334290. It is anticipated that the Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on or about 27 May 2003, with proposals due fifteen (15) days after issuance of the RFP. This requirement will be satisfied using commercial acquisition procedures specified in FAR Part 12. To obtain the solicitation, interested businesses may download the RFP at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The primary point of contact for the RFP may be reached at e-mail address mturner@c2cen.uscg.mil.
