- Description
- The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA),Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), Division of Services and Systems Improvement (DSSI), through the Program Support Center (PSC), intends to award a twelve month sole source simplified acquisition to the National Mental Health Association (NMHA). The purpose of this simplified acquisition is to employ time-tested and proven public education and media and technical assistance strategies to disseminate the result of the SAMHSA Women and Violence Study to, at a minimum, the 340 affiliates of the NMHA which are primarily composed of concerned citizens and legislative representatives in States and local communities; the 1400 grass-roots consumer-supporter organizations who are a part of this enterprise; and national health and mental health leaders who are active through this organization. Closing date for this announcement is May 27, 2003. The proposed simplified acquisition action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this Notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Contractors may forward capability statements to the referenced address within 15 days after the date of publication of this Notice. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
