Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY: The Bureau of Land Management, Office of Fire & Aviation of the Department of Interior is seeking a contractor with demonstrated experience in curriculum development and curriculum management to act as a partner in the development and delivery of a new training program for existing and future wildland fire management professionals. Preliminary program structure and subject areas have already been completed. The course instruction is to take place in a classroom setting during 8 - two-week modules spread over a 1-2 year period for a total of 640 classroom hours. The areas of study will include: Concepts and Theory of Statistics and Economics for Fire Managers, Fire and Land Management Planning, Principles of Fire and Land Management Modeling and Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Principles of Ecosystem Management for Fire Professionals, Natural Resource Policy Development and Implementation, Fire Ecology, Fire Effects, Applied Fire Management, and a Final Project and Presentation. Specific course content for each module will be shared with interested parties. The contractor must have the ability or accountability to provide formal university/college upper level accreditation for each module taken by government employees. The contractor will need to work with the BLM in the development of course lesson plans and provide the majority of the instructors. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. NAICS code 611310 applies to this synopsis. All interested parties who believe they meet this requirement are invited to submit in writing, within 30 days of the posted date of this notice, information describing their ability to provide these services. Vendors interested in performing this project must submit a Statement of Qualifications and Capabilities which identifies the vendor's experience in the performance of services the same or similar to the one to described in this notice.
