- Description
- NASA/LaRC has a requirement for Vacuum Deposition System. Specification: Specifications 1. A vacuum deposition system consisting of a turbomolecular pump (500l/s or larger), an integrated liquid nitrogen trap, high vacuum isolation valves, and an automatic vacuum control system. 2. A domed borosilicate glass bell jar chamber and an implosion guard: 300mm diameter and 350mm height (or larger). 3. A power assisted bell jar lift for effortless raising and lowering of the glass bell jar and implosion guard 4. A multi layer thermal evaporation system consisting of a four(or more)-position turret source for resistance evaporation of up to 4 or more materials in sequence, and a power supply system. 5. A film thickness monitoring system consisting of a water-cooled quartz crystal holder, an oscillator, and a thickness monitor which can store 2 or more materials/layers. 6. A substrate heating system consisting of thermocouple wire, a temperature controller, and a radiant heater that can heat substrates up to 300oC or higher temperature. NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from BOC Edwards which is the only known source that can satisfy NASA LaRC's Requirement. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on May 02, 2003.
