- 8. DESCRIPTION: NOTE: This is a revised synopsis that was previously posted on 15 April 2003 under Classification Code 42. The solicitation number remains the same. The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound has a requirement for Commander Fleet Activities, Yokosuka, Japan for the following material: 700 brand name or equal BP 016 Galls Lite Level IIIA extended coverage body armor, (various sizes medium, large, X-large), micro-laminated kevlar fiber construction, NIJ 0101.04 certified threat level IIIA, arial density of 1.30 lbs/sq ft, color to be black or navy, removable washable poly/cotton carrier, 6-point adjustable straps, front and rear shirttails; 700 brand name or equal BP183 Galls Soft Trauma Pak, 5/16? D, 4 ? oz . The procedures of FAR PART 12, Commercial Acquisition will be utilized. The Government foresees a firm fixed price supply type contract. Required Delivery Date is three weeks after contract award. Material will be shipped to Yokosuka via Tracy, CA. When issued, the RFQ will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) web link, www.neco.navy.mil. It is anticipated that the RFQ, will be issued on or about 28 April 2003, with offers due on or about 1 May 2003. All offerors wishing to submit an offer, are responsible for downloading their own copy of the RFQ from this website (WinZIP or other unzipping software is required) and to frequently monitor that site for any amendments to the RFQ. Interested parties may utilize www.fedbizopps.gov and request an E-mail notification by clicking on the ?FedBizOpps Vendor? tab then ?Acquisition Notification service? then ?register to receive notification by solicitation number.? By registering with this service, you should receive notification as to when the solicitation has been uploaded to the NECO website. PLEASE NOTE: FISC PUGET SOUND DOES NOT GUARANTEE THIS NOTICE. OFFERORS ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR DOWNLOADING THEIR OWN COPY OF THE SOLICITATION ON THE NECO WEBSITE. No telephone or fax requests for the RFQ package will be accepted. An email request to brian_r_begley@puget.fisc.navy.mil will be accepted only in the event an offeror experiences problems downloading the RFQ from the NECO website. No bidders list will be maintained by this office. No paper copies of the RFQ and/or amendments will be mailed. Failure to respond to electronically posted solicitations or quotes and associated amendments prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals or quotes may render your proposal or quote nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
