- Description
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), Radiation Oncology Branch (ROB) intends to procure on a sole-source basis with Philips Medical Systems, 22100 Bothell Everett Highway, PO Box 3003, Bothell, WA 98021 for service and maintenance of Philips ACQSIM CT Simulator. The service and maintenance agreement will be for a 1-year base period, plus 2 one year option periods. This CT Simulator system uses the basic CT machine as designed to project, plan and assist in the radiation treatment of patients in the Radiation Oncology Clinic. This system is used to plot the treatment path and procedures, and coordinate with the dosimetry system in planning the dose rate, placement and path of the radiation beam generated by our linear accelerators. The system uses a standard CT unit, designed with oncology software, operated through an Ultra Q console, which includes ACQSIM 3D CT simulation. This maintenance agreement will allow for the on-site upgrade of out-dated equipment and software, and subsequent software upgrades as they become available. It will also provide for all parts excluding the consumable items and provide clinical telephone support, and other remote support services. Philips has a complete list of parts and materials readily available to service and maintain this equipment. The contractor provides a 98% uptime guarantee, which includes priority service on delivery and response and quality assurance audits. All services are performed by factory trained personnel. This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 ? Acquisition for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority in FAR 13.5 to use simplified procedures for commercial acquisitions. This is not a solicitation for competitive quotations. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, they may submit a statement of capabilities. All information furnished shall be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the NCI researcher to determine if it can meet the above unique specifications described herein. An original and one copy of the capability statement must be received in the contracts office by 3 PM EDT (local Washington, D.C. time) on April 28, 2003. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
