- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Mr. Ruimin Liu of Gaithersburg, Maryland under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b). The contractor will perform regular maintenance operations to maintain the Superconducting Magnet, the superconductor, moving coil and laser systems, assist in watt data taking and analysis and help build and assemble new machine parts. The contractor will also prepare documentation to allow personnel to provide future maintenance when needed. Mr. Liu is uniquely qualified due to the fact that he was heavily involved in the design and construction of the specialized equipment above which is unique to the NIST Electronic Kilogram experiment. The Government anticipates an award on or about May 1, 2003. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities to respond to this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
