Description

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, intends to enter into a single source contract with Campbell Scientific, Logan, Utah. This contract is to procure CR 10X Measurement and Control Modules with Wiring Panel and 128K Memory (Dataloggers per GSA Contract #GS-25F-6042D) and Sentek Soil Moisture Probes, Solar Panels and support supplies. The Soil Moisture Probes shall be compatible with Campbell Scientific equipment (dataloggers and software)currently being used by USDA; compatible with soil moisture probe installation equipment currently being used by USDA; electrical capacitance style soil moisture probes; probes can be read by a datalogger through SDI-12 interface; measure soil moisture at 10, 30, 50, 70 and 90 cm depths with one probe; sphere of influence of approximately 10 cm; +/- 0.5% accuracy over a range of 2 - 40% volumetric water content; must be able to have 3 or more soil moisture probes on one datalogger; must have software and ability to automatically record soil moisture once or more per day from at least 3 probes and 5 depths per probe; must store 1000 or more soil moisture readings; dataloggers must have ability to run soil temperature sensors and must have compatible power source for unattended field opereation for 2 months or more.
