- Description
- This notice is for a Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)/Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) requirement for medical and health care related services. The requirement will be competed pursuant to the law, the Social Security Act(SSA), Title V, Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant, Section 502, Paragraph (a), Sub-paragraph (1) and (2). Therefore, the competition for this requirement is limited by statute to public or nonprofit institutions of higher learning and public or nonprofit private agencies and organizations engaged in research or in maternal and child health or programs for children with special care needs for research projects relating to maternal and child health services for children with special health care needs which show promise of substantial contribution to the advancement thereof. The purpose of this contract is to develop and to enhance the knowledge and skills of HRSA training grantees, to use distance learning techniques and technologies. Specifically, the contractor shall : 1) conduct an annual assessment, with a sampling of nine(9) training grants, to determine their priority training and technical assistance needs in distance learning tools and technology?including web site development, list-serves, training material on distance learning technology and methods, integration of distance learning technology and techniques into their existing curricula, document development and sharing using distance technology and software, 2) provide technical assistance, consultation and training to grantees to enable them to utilize distance learning technologies/methodologies--as identified in the needs assessment above, and 3) develop, maintain, and host web sites, list-serves. The period of performance is planned to be a contract with a base year with three one year option periods. A justification for other than full and open competition (JOFOC) is on file.
