Description
NA Sources Sought Announcement for Small Unit Level UAV Systems. Description: The US Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center is seeking foreign sources that currently produce highly mobile and deployable Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Systems to support Company and Platoon level operations that are day/ night ISR capable. Foreign sources are defined as countries designated by the Trade Agreements Act, Caribbean Basin Recovery Act and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). This is not a request for a proposal. It is the intent of this announcem ent to find sources that can produce UAV systems to be cost effectively employed in future small unit operations as a Non-Developmental Item (NDI) system. The UAV system shall consist of all subsystems necessary to launch, control and recover the air vehic le in order to conduct ISR missions. Systems can range from man-packable to single High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) transportable. At a minimum, the following subsystems are required: air vehicle (and possible launcher), Intelligence, Su rveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) payload, data link(s), and operator control unit. Interested sources should submit responses by email to patsy.garrison@redstone.army.mil/ or to the following address; US Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center, AMSAM-AC-RD-BB, Attention Patsy Garrison, Bldg 5400, Redstone Arsenal, 35898. In order to be involved in additional market research being conducted for this requirement, interested sources must contact the Contracting Officer noted above and provide the following information: 1) Product brochures, videos and/or technical data describing existing systems (include system description, payload capabilities, range, airspeed, navigation s ystem, endurance, altitude, system weight and cubic volume, crew required, data links, any simulations and software) 2) Current production (NDI) status of UAV systems (include number of UAV systems that have been produced) 3) A statement as to whether or not your firm would be willing to demonstrate the capabilities of your UAV system to US Government personnel and 4) Published cost data for systems and sub-systems in US Dollars. Responses are due by 28 April 2003. All questions should be directed to Patsy Garrison (256) 876-8762 or by email: patsy.garrison@redstone.army.mil/. Based on the responses received, the Government may elect to conduct follow-on communications and/or meetings with the interested and responsible sources.
