- Description
- The United States Navy, Naval Engineering Command, Engineering Field Activity Mediterranean issues a notice of intent to invite bids for the construction of the following NATO project: Enroute Rota Airfield Improvements, Naval Station, Rota, Spain, Solicitation # N33191-02-B-1051. The scope consists of construction of C-5 parking apron, USAFE/NATO Type III hydrant fuel systems and associated equipment installation such as filtration systems, pump buildings, fuel lines, 5,000 cubic meter tanks, fuel operation buildings and incidental work. Questionaires will be distributed to eligible firms. The Navy uses electronic solicitations extensively in the U.S. and has begun to issue solicitations electronically in Spain. This solicitation will be used via the Internet World Wide Web at http://esol.navfac.navy.mil and will not be available in paper (hard copy) format. Through ESOL, the solicitation, including plans and specifications is available for down load free of charge. All prospective bidders that will be submitting questionaires are required to create an account in ESOL. This will then allow the Government, in ESOL, to designate those firms that should be on the final list of eligible firms (developed using he NATO ICB procedures) as plan holders for this solicitation. Amendments and notices will be posted on the above web site for downloading. This will be the only method of distributing amendments and notices. The Government will no longer distribute amendments by fax or CD. It is the bidder?s responsibility to check the web site periodically for any amendments and notices to this solicitation. All interested bidders must be certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of Telecommunications Technologies.
