- The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns only. The estimated value of this procurement is between $100,000.00 and $500,000. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees, NAICS Code is 336611 and the SIC is 3731. The acquisition is for DOCKSIDE repairs to the USCGC NORTHLAND (WMEC-904), a 270 Foot ?A? CLASS MEDIUM ENDURANCE CUTTER. All work will be performed at HOMEPIER, located Portsmouth, VA. The performance period will be 30 calendar days with a start date of 25 AUGUST 2003. . The home pier of the cutter is PORTSMOUTH, VA. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC NORTHLAND (WMEC-904). This work will include, but is not limited to, (1) Clean diesel Fuel, and JP-5 fuel tanks (2) Clean sewage and grey water collection and holding tanks (3) Renew Superstructure Expansion Joint (4) Overhaul Vaneaxial Fan/Motor Assemblies (5) Overhaul Steering Systems (6) Overhaul Anchors and Anchor Chains (7) Overhaul and Test Motor Surf Boat Davit Assembly (8) Inspect Talon Grid Installation (9) Resurface Flight Deck (10) Provide Temporary Logistics (11) Renew Structural Plating on Fantail (12) Repair Main Sea Water Strainers and Foundations (13) Overhaul EDG Exhaust (14) Renew Flight Deck Line-Up Lights (15) Overhaul Emergency Drainage Valves (16) Renew Superstructure and Deck Penetrations (17) Renew Air Escapes (18) Renew Magazine Ventilation Ducting (19) Renew Paint Locker Ventilation Ducting (20) Renew Decon Shower piping (21) Renew Chain Pipes (22) Overhaul Machinery Space Plenums. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by April 21, 2003. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on FedBizOpps.
