Description
ICBM, Transporter Erector (TE) Hand Held Control Unit (HHCU) Upgrade, F42610-03-R-AAAF Line item: 0001 NSN: 5963-01-314-5847AH; P/N A91858-004. The HHCU microprocessor module requires a redesigned replacement for the existing obsolete P/N A91858-003. This announcement constitutes a sources sought synopsis. The following information is provided to do a market survey of industry to see if there are any potential contractors who have the skills and knowledge required to complete this effort. The ICBM System Program Office (SPO) is planning a replacement program for the existing module to ensure the service life of the HHCU is extended. Microprocessor Module Replacement: The HHCU is used to control the TE trailer erection mechanism and the hoist that emplaces and extracts the missile in the launch facility. The module is an integral component of the HHCU and must interface with other electronic components of the system. These parts must be acquired from a manufacturing source(s) specified on a source control or selected item drawing as defined by the current version of DoD-STD-100. Suitable technical data, government data rights, or manufacturing knowledge are not available to permit acquisition from other sources nor qualification testing of another part, nor use of a second source part in the intended application. Although, by DoD-STD-100 definition, altered and selected items shall have an adequate technical data package, the data review discloses that required data or data rights are not in the Government possession and cannot be economically obtained. Award will be made only if the offeror, the product/service, or the manufacturer meets qualification requirements at the time of award in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. The solicitation identifies the office where additional information can be obtained concerning qualification requirements is cited in each individual solicitation. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Electronic procedures will be used for this solicitation.
