Description
SIR NUMBER: DTFAGL-03-R-34338 The FAA is seeking to pre-qualify general contractors for solicitation and = award of a contract for construction of a new Air Traffic Control Tower (AT= CT) and administrative base building at Fort Wayne International Airport, F= ort Wayne, Indiana. The estimated performance time is 15 months, with an a= nticipated construction start date of Fall 2003 or Spring 2004. The estima= ted procurement is $7M to $10M. The work will include construction of 200 = ft. high pre-cast concrete module Airport Traffic Control Tower with a 525 = sq. ft. steel frame cab, a 9400 sq. ft., pre-cast concrete, one-story, abov= e grade (no basement) administrative base building and link to the tower. = Work also includes site earthwork, civil, grading and landscaping, includin= g parking area. Also included are all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, an= d fire protection systems. OFFERS WILL BE SOLICITED FROM PRE-QUALIFIED CON= TRACTORS ONLY. Contractors seeking to become pre-qualified must complete t= he attached Screening Information Request (SIR) and return them to Kathy Th= omas, 4915 S. Howell Avenue, 4th Floor, Milwaukee, WI, no later than 4:00 p= .m. CDT, April 29, 2002. Factors to be evaluated include relevant experien= ce, performance history, key personnel, project control, and financial capa= bility. Information obtained from the SIR will be utilized in determining = the firms most qualified to perform on this project and those who will rece= ive a Request For Offer.=20 Note: Contractors previously pre-qualified by the FAA, Great Lakes Region,= for the ATCT for Indianapolis International Airport need not re-apply here= . A letter of interest to the Contracting Officer, Kathy Thomas, is reques= ted. =20 The following notice is for information purposes for minority, woman-owned,= and disadvantaged enterprises: The DOT OSDBU has programs to assist minor= ity, woman-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-t= erm working capital and bonding assistance for DOT related contracts. This= is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT B= onding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and p= ayment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guar= anty on the bond amount to surety against losses. Loans are also available= under the DOT Short Term Lending Program at prime interest rates to provid= e accounts receivable financing.
