Description
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, has a requirement for two hundred and ten (210) each of LR58 batteries or equivalent and Electrolyte Fill Kits to be used in the UUVI program. NUWC is looking to purchase additional batteries as direct replacement of current batteries. The minimum requirements are as follows: Electrical Characteristics: Nominal capacity - 58Ah; Charge Rate - 2.4A; Typical Application data @70 degrees Fahrenheit, 10 hour rate - discharge (amp) 5.8; Ampere-hour output 96.0; Average voltage 1.52; Watt-hours per pound 70; Watt-hours per cubic-inch 5.0; Maximum continuous - Rate (amp) 100.0; Average Voltage 1.29; Physical characteristics are: Overall Height (inches) 6.98; Width (inches) 3.28; Depth (inches) 1.28; Terminal threads .250-28. The Government will perform the testing on the Test Samples for the first lot of ten including the ten electrolyte fill kits. The production cells for the remaining 200 are to be shipped dry with electrolyte fill kits. Electrolyte Fill Kits equal one bottle of electrolyte per cell. The Government will provide the silver for both the test samples and production cells. Inspection and Acceptance will be at destination by the Government. The contractor shall conduct quality conformance inspection on all cells produced. The Government intends to issue a written quote on or about 25 Mar 2003. Delivery will be F.O.B. Destination, Newport, RI. The Government intends to award single contract on a Firm Fixed Price basis per FAR Parts 12 and 13. All responsible sources may submit a quotation will shall be considered by the Government. Telephone requests will not be honored. NAICS: 335912.
