Description
NA The United States Army Aviation and Missile Command intends to award seventeen (17) additional Multiple Launch Rocket System Family of Munition (MFOM) Common Test Devices (MCTDs) and three (3) additional MFOM Common Test Sets (MCTSs) sole-source to Lockhee d Martin Missiles and Fire Control - Dallas, Texas, under contract DAAH01-03-C-0059. The total estimated value for this additional effort is $6.4 million. The MCTDs and MCTSs will contain both Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) and Army Tactica l Missile System (TACMS) software. The MCTDs provide a go/no go operational status of the rockets and missiles, and will be used to support all MFOM variants including GMLRS and Army TACMS in the field and at the depots. The MCTSs are used as the accepta nce test equipment, to provide fault indication of parts. The North Atlantic Industry Classification System Code is 336414. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on a sole source basis to Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control - Dallas, since they are the designer, developer, and producer of the basic Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) and associated product improvements. Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control - Dallas is the only entity that possesses the required level of knowledge and experience necessary to fulfill the required tasking. The anticipated contract award date for the seventeen (17) additional MCTDs and one (1) additional MCTS is scheduled for May 2003; whereas, the anticipated award date for the remaining two (2) addition al MCTSs is scheduled for June 2003.
