Description
The United States Department of Commerce/NOAA/Forecast Office and National Centers for Environmental Prediction intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the American Meteorological Society, Boston, MA to provide proprietary journals. The following journals are being acquired both hard copied and electronically: Weather and Forecasting, Monthly Weather Review, and Journal of Hydrometeorology. These journals are being provided for access to a specified list of National Weather Service (NWS) employees. The journals are required to assist in participating with research personnel of various universities and laboratories in the cooperative and collaborative research and development programs that are associated with the NWS Modernization and Associated Restructuring. In addition, work to include page charges for scientific papers by Hui-Ya Chuang and Peter Sousounis "The Impact of the Synoptic Situation on the Lake Aggregate Effect"; R.J. Purser, D.F. Parrish, W.-S. Wu, and N.M. Roberts "Numerical Aspects of the Application of Recursive Filters to Variational Statistical Analysis, Part I: Spatially Homogeneous and Isotropic Gaussian Covariances; and R.J. Purser, D.F. Parrish, W.-S. Wu, and N.M. Roberts "Numerical Aspects of the Application of Recursive Filters to Variational Statistical Analysis, Part II: Spatially Inhomogeneous and Anisotropic General Covariances. This is a notice of intent with no solicitation package available.
