Description
The Supervisor of Shipbuilding Conversion & Repair, USN (SUPSHIP), has a requirement for GE Industrial Systems Engineering Services to restore the ship's main engine turning gear, GE Part Number 992E387 GP2, off of the USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV-67). This requirement is being issued by Gov.Works under the franchise authority of the Department of the Interior (DOI) on behalf of SUPSHIP and in accordance with FAR 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. GE Industrial Systems Engineering Services will provide all Labor, and materials required to meet the Government's minimum requirements to restore the ship's starboard main engine turning gear to proper operating condition. Replacement parts, detail drawings, and technical data/specifications are proprietary to GE Industrial Systems Engineering. Repair Services must be procured from the OEM repair facility to ensure that the turning gear assembly is restored to original OEM performance specification requirements. Repairs to be accomplished at the Contractor facility in Hampton, VA. Contractor responsible for picking up and returning required part to Government location. The period of performance for this effort shall not exceed 9 months from the date of award. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with GE Industrial Systems Engineering for the supplies and services in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities or submit proposals via email to both Mary.Coleman@mms.Gov and Terrie.Callahan@mms.gov. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within 5 working days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
