- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, NJ intends to place a contract with The Boeing Company in St. Louis, Missouri to procure Upgrade Kits for the F/A-18 A/B/C/D Servocylinder Test Stand Station (STS). As a result of this ECP, P/N 74D140080-1007 will be upgraded to a -1009 configuration. A basic quantity of up to Eighteen (18) Station Kits, and Eight (8) Calibration Kits (P/N 87501710-101 and 88002797-101) will be required. An option quantity of Twenty-five (25) Station Kits and Six (6) Calibration Kits is also anticipated. Each Station Kit is comprised of one (1) upgrade kit (P/N 74D070302-1001), one (1) Maintenance Assist Module (MAM) (P/N 88002672-101), and Extender Cards (P/N 88003347-101). The STS Upgrade is to an existing piece of test equipment for which the Government does not own specifications or complete drawings. Source code is also proprietary to the OEM. This contract is a follow-on to an earlier contract which was awarded to Boeing for development and testing of the new STS configuration and limited kit production buy. The STS is a computer controlled hydraulic test station which performs functional testing of the F/A-18 A/B/C/D flight control actuators. An upgrade to the STS is required due to known obsolescence and reliability issues with the current configuration. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may or may not be used by the Government in determining whether or not to open this requirement to competition. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based on the responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
