Description
The US Army TACOM-ARDEC is conducting a market survey to identify potential contractors in support of development of a life-cycle approach to research, development, manufacturing, distribution and education of micro-electro- mechanical systems (MEMS) and nano-scale devices for energetics, munitions and armament systems. Nano-technology and MEMS applications must include research and development of the design, fabrication, and fast prototyping of application-specific integrated circuits, optical switches, pressure sensors, and micro-electro-mechanical systems. Manufacturing technologies must include activities addressing: models that predict life-cycle environmental effects of material choices in research and design, and production process changes as applied to weapon systems; materials and processes that ensure minimal deleterious impact on the environment; processes and methods of coatings application and removal; processes and materials to reduce corrosion and associated hazardous wastes, and final disposition in demilitarization operations. Distribution logistics research must include support of modeling and analysis of transportation needs and opportunities related to local area, state, and regional economic development. Interested firms who feel that they are capable of producing these devices are invited to indicate their interest by providing specifications, brochures, and/or drawings within two weeks of the date of this notice to US Army TACOM-ARDEC, ATTN: Dr. Patrick Black, AMSTA-AR-WEA, Bldg. 1, Floor 3, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. Any technical questions that you may have, the POC is Dr. Patrick Black, email: pblack@pica.army.mil, Telephone No. (973) 724-3179. In addition, please provide the company?s name, address, point of contact with telephone number and email address, size of business (small/large) and country represented. This is a market survey for information only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the US Government.
