Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Northrop Grumman Corporation, Bethpage, NY 11714, for a trade study that identifies and quantifies cost, schedule, and technical air vehicle integration requirements possessed by various proposed control system upgrades for the T56-A-427 engine for both the E-2C Hawkeye 2000 and Advanced Hawkeye weapon system configurations. Air Vehicle integration requirements will be consolidated with engine OEM (Rolls Royce) and Propeller OEM (Hamilton Sundstrand) trade study inputs in order to provide a thorough quantification of trade study parameters for each control system trade study option. Northrop Grumman is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the E-2 aircraft and is, therefore, the only source that possesses the resources and indepth technical knowledge and technical data necessary to provide these services within the time required to meet USN requirements.
