Description

This is a Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract to Hill, Dr. Elwood F., PO Box 1615, Gardnerville, NV 89410 for field collections of samples from fish-eating birds (eggs, blood) and behavioral observations at an EPA Superfund site on the Carson River and a reference site in Nevada (about 250 to 300 miles between sites). Contractor has conducted similar toxicology studies with mercury and is able to collect data associated with an EPA Superfund site contaminated with mercury on the Carson River, Nevada. Contractor will also evaluate success of nests throughout the nesting season and write a report at the end of field season. Contractor will also place 60 Government furnished transmitters on young Snowy Egrets and determine the location and survivorship of the birds at weekly intervals following fledglings (for 60 days). Project will begin April 01, 2003 and be completed by September 30, 2003. This is not a request for quotation and a quotation will not be issued.
