Description
The US Army, Office of the Project Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems (PM-MAS), is seeking interested, qualified sources for the manufacture and delivery of the M1001 40mm Canister Cartridge. The contract is expected to include a base year for 61K cartridges with an option for an additional 61K cartridges. The M1001 Canister Cartridge is fired from the MK19 Mod 3 Grenade Machine Gun (GMG) and is capable of providing effective anti-personnel capability from weapon muzzle to 100 meters. The Canister Cartridge, when fired in a 3-5 round burst at a target consisting of seven 2 x 6 (M-sized) silhouettes standing vertically side by side, shall provide a P(h) of 57% threshold (4 of 7 panels receiving hits) and shall demonstrate the capability of defeating the standard issue PASGT type vest at 100 meters. The M1001 cartridge will be procured to a performance specification and not to a Government Technical Data Package. Performance requirements will be in accordance with MIL-PRF-12991142, which can be obtained by going to the link below. The first delivery must occur seven months after contract award. All offerors must have a verified design capable of meeting the performance requirements within the required delivery schedule to be eligible for contract award. The government will not pay for any development or verification costs. Firms interested in participating in this acquisition should submit a capability statement adequately describing experience in munitions development, production, and testing, systems contracting, demonstrated annual ammunition production quantities and annual production capacity, and status of their proposed design. Information submitted should include your organization, personnel, facilities, applicable subcontractor network and past experience to meet specific needs stated above. Include company name, address, telephone number, technical and contracting points of contact, item nomenclature, item description, brochure/literature. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. Please be advised that the Government will not pay for any information submitted under this announcement.
