Description
NA The 190th Civil Engineer Squadron, Kansas Air National Guard, Topeka, KS, is seeking sources of a firm with ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a malfunctioning fire alarm system. The currently installed Siemens alarm system has, for several mont hs, experienced false alarms. The system installer, manufacturer and government fire alarm technicians have been unable to determine the cause of these false alarms. Offerors will be asked to present a plan for diagnosing the system, troubleshooting the system based on the data gathered, and then modifying or repairing the system to eliminate the troublesome false alarms. Offerors must furnish all necessary electronic equipment needed to monitor radio frequencies, electrical impulses, electromagnetic sig nals, etc., as deemed necessary to effectively accomplish the diagnosis and troubleshooting. A price proposal should be included for the diagnosis and troubleshooting. A separate cost proposal will be needed for system repairs, after the extent of the ne eded repairs is determined. Fire Alarm System information and trouble: ?Siemens Cerberus Pyrotronics MXL? addressable panel / device fire alarm system completed July 2002. False alarms and nuisance trouble signals have been recurring since July 2002. F alse alarms / troubles have occurred at various times throughout the day, but have developed a pattern in which over 75% of the alarms and troubles are occurring in the early morning (0500 to 0700) timeframe. Over 90% of the system problems have occurred in one specific loop, with many devices on that loop going into alarm or trouble conditions, with no consistent pattern. Fire alarm system is wired as a Class A, 4 wire system. For additional information concerning the fire system please contact: Lt Col Craig Hansen, Base Civil Engineer, (785) 861-4827 or Major Andy Baden, (785) 861-4959.
