- CBDNet ANNOUNCEMENT: PRESOLICITATION NOTICE ACTION CODE: <PRESOL> CLASSIFICATION CODE: 66 - Laboratory Supplies and Equipment SUBJECT: Purchase of Goniometers SOLICITATION NUMBER: 03-856-4103 RESPONSE DATE: February 20, 2003 CONTACT POINTS: George Samen, Purchasing Agent, 301-975-6492, Fax: 301-975-6319 DESCRIPTION: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Blake Industries-of Scotch Plains, NJ for (2) two Huber Instrument Goniometers. ***Sole source determination is based on the need for both Goniometers to be compatible existing fabricated parts and equipment. Blake Industries is the sole US representative of Huber Instruments and therefore has been determined to be the only company capable of delivering these insruments. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 90 days after receipt of order. ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 employees ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by February 20, 2003. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
