Description
NA 1. Reference announcement of draft solicitation DAAD19-03-R-0005, posted to the FedBisOpps site on January 3, 2003. THE INTENT IS TO CREATE AN ARMY INSTITUTE FOR COLLABORATIVE BIOTECHNOLOGIES. The original announcement is hereby modified to reflect pre- competition meeting information. The Army announces its intention to create a University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) of excellence providing innovative concepts to focus the talent of industry and academia on the critical biotechnology needs of the A rmy and to develop biotechnology solution to Army problems. In anticipation of the Broad Agency Announcement, the Army will host two pre-solicitation conferences to be held in February 2003 on the East and West Coast. The dates and cities are: February 12, Baltimore, MD and February 14, Los Angeles, CA. The exact times and meeting locations have been determined, and are posted on the Army Research Office (ARO) web site. Registration information, the meeting location, times and directions to the meetin g location are available on the ARO web site: http://www.aro.army.mil/biotech/index.htm. Universities are allowed to send no more than 5 representatives, each of whom must pre-register to attend. 2. The intent of the Army to create a research center of excellence to develop biotechnology science and technology solutions for the Army remains unchanged. Information regarding this program will be continuously available at the ARO web site: http://ww w.aro.army.mil/biotech/index.htm. Questions regarding the center may be posed by contacting QA@arl.aro.army.mil. Questions and answers will be posted at that QA web site. Further announcements will be provided as they become available.
