Description
The National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA), Advanced Technology Division (IDI), Pathfinder 2004 (Pf04) Team is submitting the following Request for Information (RFI) regarding storage, retrieval, and management tools or technologies, and relevant data formats in support of integrating airborne information including still and motion imagery into the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSGI). The objective of the Pathfinder evaluation will be to assess tools or technologies that manage airborne information in support of tactical scenarios. These tools should address one or more of the functional areas of interest to NIMA and the Airborne and Geospatial Intelligence communities including, but not limited to, five focus areas: 1) integration; 2) support to the warfighter; 3) interoperability; 4) metadata formats and standards for still and motion imagery; and 5) data storage formats. Tools should: support selected operational scenarios; support the warfighters with a common airborne information storage management system; assist analysts in the timely storage, retrieval, and management of airborne information; and support product generation of multi-intelligence (multi-INT) data into targetable information. NIMA/IDI is interested in finding DEVELOPERS or VENDORS of off-the-shelf (commercial or government-owned) tools or technologies, "beta or better" (6.3/6.4), who are experienced in the distributed storage and retrieval arena. Based upon the responses to this RFI, the Pf 04 Team will select the appropriate tools and systems for assessment. If you or your organization is involved in the area of distributed data storage management technologies, please refer to the procurement and contracts web site listed below for the scope of the tools or technologies supporting airborne information archival and white paper submission requirements. Further information concerning the details of this RFI and airborne information background can be found on the NIMA Procurement and Contracts website, http://www.nima.mil/poc/contracts/r&d.html. Any changes will not be posted in the FedBizOpps, however; the web site will be updated as needed. Please watch for date changes under the heading, as this will indicate information has been added/changed.
