- Description
- NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Pacebook 867 MHZ Computers and Battery Covers. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from PaceBlade Technology Inc, USA, per FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The items procured must be capable of surviving in the radiation environment of space. After market research and radiation testing, it was determined that the Pacebook is the only product that meets the radiation and performance requirements. PaceBlade is the only maufacturer and reseller of the Pacebook. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:00 p.m. CST on Monday January 27, 2003. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
