- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division is seeking information and examples of marine propeller technologies that have been demonstrated to reduce tip vortex and other forms of cavitation. Demonstrations can include water tunnel testing although experience on ships is preferred. Propellers should be able to remain in service for two years between maintenance periods. Responses to this announcement should include a technical description of the propellers demonstrated, along with test results that indicate the increase in cavitation free speed that resulted. Sufficient technical detail should be provided to justify how the technology enabled the reduction in cavitation. Any unique manufacturing, installation or maintenance issues that are a result of new propeller technologies should be addressed in the response. Information may be submitted not later than 25 February 2003 to the following address or by email: Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division Code 5400 R Szwerc 9500 MacArthur Blvd West Bethesda MD 20817-5700 Marked for: N00167-03-SS-0029 Technical questions should be addressed to Richard Szwerc at 301-227-1418 (email: szwercrp@nswccd.navy.mil).
