Description
The 45th Contracting Squadron has a Sole Source requirement doing research and development for a Luminescent Field Sensor. This requirement involves developing and testing a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP)-imbedded liquid core waveguide (LCW) sensor. The scope of this requirement involves personnel, equipment and software leading to a proof of concept for the above mentioned sensor. The anticipated contract type will be a Cost Type contract with a period of performance from date of award through one year. This action will be a sole source acquisition to Texas Tech University IAW FAR Part 6.302-1(b)(i). Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by contacting the contracting officer, Robert Stuart by e-mail: robert.stuart@patrick.af.mil. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the government will consider all responses received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis. Important Notice: FAR 52.232-33 Payment by Electronic Funds Transfer-Central Contractor Registration requires registration in the CCR database. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 541710 and the SIC Code is 8731. This requirement is for the Air Force Technical Application Center. The 45th Contracting Squadron has determined that Texas Tech is the only source capable of providing this requirement. Only LCWs developed by Texas Tech have been applied to the detection of analytes and compounds and to perform both active and passive sampling. Phone calls will not be accepted. SEE NUMBERED NOTE 22.
