Description
The VA NIHCS is conducting market research to find small businesses that have available an off-the-shelf employee training package that provides training that will instill a service culture with the result being improved morale, enhanced teamwork, recommitment to the purpose of being in the healthcare field, improved communication, improved problem solving, improved job satisfaction, and increased patient satisfaction. The training package should focus on (1) employees as customers, (2) employee empowerment=97train managers/supervisors to delegate/empower their employees and for employees to accept/use their empowerment, (3) communication=97how to effectively communicate with subordinates, peers, and exterior customers, (4) behavior styles=97how to recognize different behavior styles and how to work with them, (5) problem solving, (6) coaching skills=97how to provide positive feedback, instill a sense of duty for quality performance, and motivate employees, and (7) continuous reinforcement of skills. Package is to include measurement tools and an accountability process. Training may be provided by the contractor or by training VA employees as facilitators. There are approximately 1,050 employees to receive training, which includes union officials and approximately 70 supervisors. VA NIHCS is a two campus facility and training would be conducted at both campuses. Interested firms are to submit their name, address, point of contact, summary of their training package, and a list of references that have completed the training. This information is to be submitted to the VA NIHCS, Marjean Litzenberg (90C), 2121 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 by February 4, 2003.
