Description

The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) within the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is engaged in the Integrated Cyber Security Initiative (ICSI) to design and implement a secure, integrated electronic environment, herein referred to as the NNSA Enterprise. This Enterprise will encompass multiple NNSA sites and will operate primarily on a closed wide area network (WAN) called the Enterprise Secure Network. The ICSI Authentication Team is issuing this RFI to survey the marketplace for potential solutions for network authentication services providing "single sign-on" capability with multi-factor authentication in a federated environment. This survey will be used to identify authentication technologies and solutions that are viable for use within the envisioned NNSA Enterprise and to obtain rough cost estimates for budgetary purposes. Given the breadth of the authentication requirements described below, it is possible that a vendor may provide only one component of a solution that could be integrated with other components, either by another vendor or by the NNSA site personnel themselves, to form a complete solution. Vendors are encouraged to respond with partial solutions, if they feel those can be integrated successfully into a total solution, and/or to partner with other vendors to provide a complete solution.
