- Medical Supplies - Potential Sources Sought Military Hospitals - (Army, Navy, Air Force) TRICARE Regions 9 and 10 Hand Antisepsis / Alcohol-Based Rub (Hand Sanitizer) - Standardization Point of Contact: Cindy Ingrao, Clinical Consultant, Tri-Service Regional Business Office, TRICARE Regions 9 & 10, San Diego, CA. Telephone: (619) 532-8517. Potential sources sought to participate in the regional standardization of Hand Antisepsis / Alcohol-Based Rub (Hand Sanitizer). TRICARE Regions 9 and 10, a military integrated delivery network (IDN), comprised of Army, Navy and Air Force medical treatment centers in California are in the process of standardizing Hand Antisepsis / Alcohol-Based Rub (Hand Sanitizer). If your company currently holds or in the process of obtaining a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) with the Defense Supply Center-Philadelphia (DSCP) for Hand Antisepsis / Alcohol-Based Rub (Hand Sanitizer), your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. Please respond by Email: cingrao@reg9.med.navy.mil and provide your company name, address, point of contact, telephone, fax and E-mail address and answers to the below listed questions no later than January 31, 2003. For questions, please call (619) 532-8517. 1.Does your company offer an alcohol-based waterless hand rub? If so, does your product meet the FDA Tentative Final Monograph (TFM) for Healthcare Antiseptic Drug Products? 2.Is your product hypoallergenic? 3.Is your product fragrance free? 4.What is the amount and type of alcohol in your hand rub? What other active ingredients are in the formulation? 5.What is the efficacy of your product? Does your product have broad spectrum antimicrobial activity? Has your product been tested on anthrax and smallpox? Please include the literature that describes and/or gives the list of organisms your product is effective against. 6.What is the amount of time for efficacy to be reached? 7.What is the length of time of efficacy? Does your product provide persistent antimicrobial activity? 8.Does your product have ingredients that protect the skin from drying and irritation? 9.Does your product stain items that come in contact with it? 10.Does your product leave a residue or build up on the skin? 11.Are there any soaps, scrubs, lotions or types of gloves that are not compatible with your product? 12.Does a lotion need to be used after use of the hand rub? If so, what lotions does your company offer? 13.Is your product affected by the use of hand lotions, creams, soaps or gloves that are not manufactured by your company? 14.What is the average length of time it takes for the product to dry? 15.Is there any special handling required with the use of this product? 16.What type of dispenser(s) is/are available for your product? How does your company ensure the product does not drip from the dispenser after or when not in use? 17.What types of educational tools or materials do you have for this product line? 18.Is there any history of backorders and/or recalls for this product group?
